Swimming is a nearly perfect exercise. Swimming is one of the sunnah of the Prophet Mohamad (SAW) exercise beside archery and horse riding. Do some stretching exercises to warm up before and after swimming. This will make your stroke smoother and more efficient and will reduce muscle pain. Do see your doctor before started to swim.

  1. Benefits the heart, lungs and muscles, you will feel better about yourself.
  2. Increases fun on other recreational activities like scuba diving, sailing, rafting, and go to the beach.
  3. It does not bear the weight and no pressure on bones and joints.
  4. Improve cardiovascular conditions.
  5. It is an effective weight control - 1 hour of swimming is burns calories equal to 6 miles of running in 1 hour.
  6. Swimming is a form of meditation that helps calm the nerves.
  7. Swimming also uses most of the major muscle groups, and strengthens both upper and lower body.
  8. Pregnant women can also benefit from the pool. Swimming can help them strengthen their abdominal muscles and shoulders. Abdominal muscles and shoulder areas are often subject to tax with the baby.
