Be a fan of this cooler

Fan
After a successful worldwide launch, the Dyson Air Multiplier bladeless fan is now available in Malaysia. The blades on conventional electric fans literally chop the air - making the airflow uneven, causing unpleasant buffeting.

The Dyson Air Multiplier fan has no blades. Instead it uses patented technology to multiply air up to 18 times, expelling 450 litres of cool, smooth and uninterrupted air every second.

Air is accelerated through an annular aperture. This creates a jet of air which passes over an airfoil ramp that channels its direction. Surrounding air is drawn into the airflow to amplify it (this is called inducement and entrainment).

Dyson's fluid dynamic engineers ran hundreds of simulations to measure and map airflow - allowing them to precisely optimise how the Dyson Air Multiplier works.

The Dyson Air Multiplier is powered by an energy efficient brushless motor, so air speed can be precisely adjusted with a dimmer switch, unlike conventional fans that are wired to run at just two or three settings.

No blades means no need for a grille, so it's safe and simple to clean.

And because its motor is at its base, the Dyson Air Multiplier fan can be tilted with a touch, unlike a conventional top-heavy fan, which needs to be positioned with two hands and can topple easily.

The range

Dyson AM01 desk fan

Available in two sizes - 25cm and 30cm diameter, the AM01 is designed to sit on desks and to cool without buffeting.

Dyson AM02 Tower fan

At 1m high and only 19cm wide, the AM02 Tower takes up limited floor space. Thirty-three litres of air are drawn through a missed flow impeller each second and then amplified in volume 16 times using Air Multiplier technology.

Dyson AM03 Pedestal fan

Offering the most airflow of all Dyson Air Multiplier fans, the AM03 Pedestal draws in 33 litres of air per second and amplifies the air leaving the machine by 18 times. It extends from a height of 1.2 metres to 1.4 metres for use in larger areas including living rooms and offices. It has no spinning blades, is easy to adjust and tilt.

The AM02 and AM03 come with remote controls for oscillation and airflow.

  • The Dyson Air Multiplier AM01 fan will retail from RM989. The AM02 and AM03 fans retail for RM1,659. The range is available at major electrical outlets.
